Introduction to Mechanical Prototyping

The requirements for this project were to create a box with at least four different types of fasteners and five different types of joints. The box I created is based on the TARDIS from the show Doctor Who. It contains nails, screws, nuts and bolts, and glue as the four different fasteners. The five different joints I used were lap joints, hinges, t-joints, finger joints, and butt joints. I chose these joints and fasteners because I wanted to be able to do them, especially some of the joints that I could physically make on the laser cutter.
